Digital overlaminate films are indispensable for enhancing the durability and longevity of digitally printable graphics. These pressure-sensitive films play a vital role in safeguarding printed vinyl, particularly in demanding exterior applications such as fleet graphics, vehicle wraps, marine applications, and outdoor signage.
Designed to shield graphics from harsh environmental elements such as severe weather, UV exposure, chemicals, and abrasion, overlaminate films also have the added benefit of providing a special finish, such as gloss or sparkle, enhancing the overall visual appeal of the graphic.
The standout feature of the DOL Max films lies in their advanced horizontal and vertical protection capabilities, addressing the vulnerability of horizontally applied graphics to environmental conditions. According to Alex Fox, Product Manager, Graphics Digital & Signage at Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions, “Our new DOL Max films are engineered to protect both vertical and vulnerable horizontal applications.”
With the introduction of DOL Max, Avery Dennison now offers a comprehensive range of digital overlaminate films catering to every durability requirement and budget.
DOL 1060 Max, a gloss finish film, boasts exceptional durability and outdoor performance, with up to seven-year vertical durability and up to two-year horizontal durability.
DOL 1360 Max, an optically clear film with a super smooth finish, exhibits outstanding UV, temperature, humidity, and salt-spray resistance, along with up to seven-year vertical durability and up to two-year horizontal durability.
The compatibility with the vinyl material is a critical factor in selecting an overlaminate. The DOL Max films are specially engineered for use with Avery Dennison’s industry-leading MPI 1105 Supercast film, making it an ideal pairing for vehicle, fleet, and outdoor graphic applications.
Moreover, Avery Dennison is expanding its DOL 6000 series and PVC-free product line with the addition of DOL 6470. This high-performance luster finish film, developed for extended durability in both vertical and horizontal applications, offers exceptional value for applications requiring abrasion resistance, color durability, and conformability to irregular substrates in a PVC-free construction. It pairs seamlessly with either MPI 1405 PVC-free cast vinyl or MPI 1105, boasting up to six-year vertical durability and up to three-year horizontal durability.
Alex Fox emphasizes, “The three new films enhance Avery Dennison’s already robust DOL product line, which includes the cast DOL Z series films, calendared DOL 2000 and 3000 series, and our specialty DOL 6000 series overlaminates. Within our overlaminate films portfolio, we provide high-quality options for every budget and durability need.”
