New digital pylon sign upgrade at Puente Hills Auto Center outside Los Angeles, California.
The Puente Hills Auto Center recently underwent a significant enhancement to its prominent digital pylon, a dual-faced structure that commands attention from both east and westbound lanes of the Pomona Freeway (Route 60). The upgrade involved the incorporation of cutting-edge EMPIRE™ Exterior LED display technology from SNA Displays, marking a substantial improvement in the visual appeal and advertising capabilities of the iconic signage.
Managed and serviced by Electra-Media, Inc. (EMI), the original freeway structure, in place for over 15 years, was rejuvenated without any foundational changes. The City of Industry played a crucial role in providing 100 percent funding for the project, underscoring the commitment to maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of the sign. The comprehensive revamp included a shift to a 16mm pixel pitch for the new double-faced LED billboard, ensuring a high-quality display of digital-out-of-home (DOOH) content.
The digital pylon, strategically located to capture the attention of passing motorists, places a heavy focus on promoting the car brands associated with the auto center. Notable names such as Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Land Rover, Jaguar, and others are prominently featured in the engaging content displayed on the upgraded LED faces. The 19-feet-8-inches-high-by-36-feet-9-inches-wide dimensions of each LED face, comprising a total of 525,000 pixels, guarantee a captivating and visually striking presentation.
Rod Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at EMI, emphasized the significance of regular upkeep, noting that the Puente Hills Auto Center serves as a prime example of how periodic enhancements can extend the lifetime of a sign indefinitely. The revamped pylon not only boasts state-of-the-art SNA Displays LED technology but also features redesigned brand panels and a complete structure repaint, contributing to its contemporary and attractive appearance.
The upgrade also encompasses new LED channel lettering and illuminated tenant cabinets for the various dealerships housed within the auto center, further enhancing the overall visual appeal. Raymond Jonathan, Project Manager at SNA Displays, stressed the importance of upgrading display technology for digital billboard owners, especially those in high-traffic areas. He highlighted the commitment to ensuring clients derive the maximum benefit from their video display investment, whether through a technology refresh or a new installation.
The seamless execution of the project was made possible through the efforts of Blake Sign Company, which provided expert sign installation services. The Puente Hills Auto Center’s digital pylon stands as a testament to the transformative power of advanced LED display technology, offering a compelling and dynamic platform for advertising that aligns with the center’s brand and captures the attention of the bustling freeway audience.
