“Laminators Incorporated: A Six-Decade Journey of Innovation and Excellence”
Founded in July 1963 by Joe Thompson, Laminators Incorporated has grown into a multi-generational family-owned and operated business. Today, it is under the leadership of David Thompson as President and CEO, with Garrett Thompson as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Scott Thompson managing Take-Off Support for Construction Services. Over the course of sixty years, Laminators Incorporated has firmly established itself as a leading manufacturer of high-quality composite panels, serving the commercial construction, sign-making, and OEM industries in the United States and Canada.
The company’s origins can be traced back to its founding as a manufacturer of panels for chalkboards and bulletin boards. However, its journey has been marked by evolution and diversification, entering various markets throughout its history. From producing swing doors for truck trailers to panels for above-ground pools and temporary housing camps, these early products paved the way for the architectural and sign products they offer today.
In the 1980s, Laminators Incorporated made its foray into the commercial construction industry, introducing the first of many architectural panels. Expanding into the professional sign-making industry in the early 1990s, they launched LusterBoard™ and Omega SignBoard™ sign panels, followed by the immensely popular Alumalite™ a few years later.
As the sign business continued to grow, Laminators Incorporated introduced their most iconic architectural products to date in the late 1990s—Omega-Lite® ACM panels and Thermolite™ insulated glazing panels. The company’s product catalog continued to expand, accompanied by the development of various installation systems for their architectural panels, such as 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding, Clip & Caulk, Dry Seal, and Rout & Return. This comprehensive approach made Laminators Incorporated one of the few ACM manufacturers offering fully designed, tested, and supported panel and installation systems.
Fast forward to 2023, Laminators Incorporated boasts three divisions—Architectural Systems, Sign Panels, and the latest addition, OEM Solutions, launched in 2019. Their product lineup now includes 20 different composite panels, six proprietary installation systems, and over 60 standard colors and finishes, not to mention their ability to create unlimited custom colors for corporate ID projects.
In addition to their wide product range, the company offers various services, such as fabrication, take-offs, ACM shop drawings, and installer training. These high-quality products, systems, and services have left an indelible mark on the market over the past sixty years.
David Thompson, President & CEO, reflects on the company’s sixtieth anniversary: “As we celebrate our sixtieth anniversary, I feel proud and blessed when I look back at the journey of these momentous and remarkable years. We couldn’t have done it without the support from our dedicated customers throughout the last six decades. Our commitment to providing high-quality products, innovative application solutions, and exceptional customer service has helped us build long-term relationships with our customers. The many years to come will be exciting and packed with new achievements.”
