Everything is truly bigger in Texas, especially when GoVision is involved! GoVision, the provider of large-scale LED video displays based in Argyle, Texas, has once again partnered with Texas Motor Speedway to enhance the track’s iconic Big Hoss TV screen. This massive screen originally set a Guinness World Record when it was first installed by GoVision nearly a decade ago.
The new and improved Big Hoss TV will feature state-of-the-art technology. It will be a DigiLED Vision Ultra screen that is 10 percent larger, measuring 22,692 square feet compared to the previous 20,660 square feet. This upgrade also includes a 22 percent increase in the total number of pixels, from 6,405,120 to 8,236,800, resulting in a clearer and crisper image. Additionally, the resolution has been enhanced by 20 percent, going from 16mm to 20mm, and the screen is now 16 percent brighter, with a calibrated brightness of 7,000 nits compared to the previous 6,000 nits.
Mark Faber, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Texas Motor Speedway, expressed his enthusiasm about working with GoVision once again. He highlighted the enduring commitment of the speedway to partner with top-notch Texas-based companies, emphasizing GoVision’s status as a premier and trusted organization. Faber also conveyed gratitude for GoVision’s efforts in installing the new-and-improved Big Hoss TV screen in time for the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 NASCAR Playoffs weekend, underscoring the importance of this upgrade for the race fans’ overall experience.
Big Hoss TV was first unveiled on March 19, 2014, and subsequently earned certification from Guinness World Records on April 6, 2014, as the largest HD LED video board in the world. The multi-million-dollar upgrade to Big Hoss TV reflects Texas Motor Speedway’s continual dedication to enhancing the fan experience.
Chris Curtis, the Founder & Chairman of GoVision, expressed pride in providing this impressive upgrade to Big Hoss TV. He emphasized that their new technology would firmly establish Big Hoss TV as one of the best, brightest, and largest screens in the world. Curtis considered this as another significant achievement for GoVision and expressed excitement about collaborating once again with the team at Texas Motor Speedway. He mentioned GoVision’s long-standing partnership with Speedway Motorsports, citing their previous involvement with the original Big Hoss TV press conference and their work on the colossal Colossus TV, the largest freestanding center-hung video board at Bristol Motor Speedway. Curtis concluded by acknowledging GoVision’s role as a trusted long-term partner in providing state-of-the-art solutions across Speedway Motorsports’ family of tracks.
