SNA Displays has been selected to carry out video display upgrades at Chad Richison Stadium, located on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), a public university in Edmond, Oklahoma, just north of Oklahoma City. This stadium serves as the home venue for the UCO Bronchos’ NCAA Division II football team and has a seating capacity of 12,000 spectators. The planned video display upgrades encompass the installation of a new video scoreboard as well as the addition of two LED ribbons within the football stadium.
Stan Wagnon, the director of Athletics at UCO, emphasized the significance of these digital signage enhancements, marking the final phase of a $10 million renovation project at Chad Richison Stadium. These renovations were generously funded by the stadium’s namesake. These upgrades are expected to further solidify the stadium’s position as one of the top-notch sports facilities in the State of Oklahoma and among NCAA Division II institutions. Wagnon expressed appreciation for the efforts of both Anthony James Partners and SNA Displays in enhancing the gameday experience for UCO students and fans, with the exciting prospect of engaging them in a new way during the upcoming fall season.
Owner-representative Anthony James Partners (AJP) played a crucial role in providing design and procurement services, assisting UCO in the selection of SNA Displays to manufacture the new video boards. These boards will feature 10 mm pixel pitch EMPIRE™ Exterior LED video display technology.
Michael Rowe, CEO of AJP, commended UCO as an excellent partner to collaborate with, highlighting their active involvement in every detail of the project, a key factor in ensuring its success. The upcoming retrofit of the stadium will incorporate state-of-the-art high-definition LED display technology, significantly larger than the previous display. This new system will result in nearly a 300 percent increase in overall resolution, greatly enhancing the fan experience at the stadium.
The centerpiece of this upgrade will be a new 1.3-million-pixel LED scoreboard, measuring 35 feet in height and 42 feet in width (1,056×1,280 pixels). The front of the scoreboard will feature an illuminated UCO logo, while the rear will showcase Bronchos channel lettering and a sponsor tension graphic. A unique and eye-catching feature is the rocky waterfall effect that appears to flow from the display itself, giving the south end of the stadium one of the most distinctive looks in college football.

In addition to the main video scoreboard upgrade, SNA Displays will also be responsible for providing end-zone LED ribbons that frame the entrance to the university’s Sports Performance Center on the north end of the field. These ribbon boards will stretch approximately 90 feet in length.
AJ Faxel, the director of sports and live events at SNA Displays, acknowledged that Richison Stadium is already renowned as one of the premier NCAA Division II football stadiums. This digital enhancement project is expected to solidify and further augment that reputation, providing fans with even more reasons to get excited about the upcoming games.
Furthermore, the main scoreboard will incorporate a new speaker system, featuring equipment from Danley Sound Labs. The entire video display upgrade initiative is scheduled to be completed before the start of the Bronchos’ 2023 football season.
