USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium shines bright with new Daktronics LED displays.
The USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium – OGE Energy Field, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has partnered with Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT), a leading company based in Brookings, South Dakota, to enhance the stadium’s visual experience for fans, athletes, coaches, and umpires. The collaboration has resulted in the installation of a new main outfield video display and two ribbon displays, which have been in use since the spring of 2023.
Managing Director of Operations, Jake Magness, expressed the significance of these new displays, highlighting their potential to elevate the overall experience at the venue. He stated, “Welcoming various events each year while bringing 300+ teams to the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex annually, these three new boards are going to bring an upgraded experience for fans, athletes, coaches, and umpires to enjoy. With the new Daktronics boards, we will be able to continue focusing on growing the game in a positive way and showcasing the athletes while doing so. Both the new ribbon boards and the outfield videoboard will allow us to showcase the technology improvements of the game, our athletes and their statistics, as well as highlight our partners with the many different varieties that the board allows.”
Furthermore, Magness emphasized that the new displays are positioned to be highly visible from all areas of the stadium, ensuring that attendees can experience these technological enhancements, regardless of their seating location. He expressed gratitude for the contributions that made this project possible, stating, “When coming to the Softball Capital of the World®, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the new boards no matter where your seats are at! We are honored and thankful for the individuals who made it possible for this to happen here at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex.”
This collaboration with Daktronics marks a significant step in enhancing the experience for all visitors to the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex, underscoring the commitment to promoting and celebrating the sport of softball.
Ribbon boards deliver visual enhancements in Oklahoma City.
The main video display in left field boasts impressive dimensions, measuring approximately 26.5 feet in height and 36 feet in width. In addition, each of the two ribbon displays, which are mounted to the seating fascia, stretches roughly 3.5 feet in height and spans an impressive 100 feet in width.
All three LED displays feature a 10-millimeter pixel spacing, ensuring that they deliver exceptional image clarity and contrast, enhancing the quality of images and graphics presented at events.
Daktronics Sales Representative, Perry Grave, underscored the significance of these technological advancements, especially for the prestigious collegiate softball stage, stating, “For the largest stage of collegiate softball, the technology we’ve installed will bring all of the video and excitement fans expect to see on game day and then some. We’re honored to work with such a great venue on this video display and ribbon board project to ensure fans have a fully immersive experience at every game.”
The main video display offers the versatility of variable content zoning, enabling it to display either a single, large image or multiple zones of content. This content can encompass live video, instant replays, real-time statistics, game information updates, graphics, animations, and sponsorship messages.
Meanwhile, the ribbon displays serve the purpose of conveying supplementary game information and supporting graphics while also providing opportunities to showcase sponsors throughout events.
To further enhance the fan experience, the venue will receive a content package for the LED displays, which will be expertly produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services—an award-winning, in-house creative team known for their creative prowess.
