Daktronics, a company based in Brookings, South Dakota, has joined forces with the Rochester Red Wings to collaborate on the design, manufacturing, and installation of two cutting-edge LED displays at Frontier Field in Rochester, New York, in preparation for the 2023 baseball season.
Red Wings General Manager, Dan Mason, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to partner with Daktronics to elevate the fan experience here at Innovative Field to new heights. The resolution, brightness, and size of the new board will be a significant improvement for our fans and sponsors, and we can’t wait to utilize the new tools available to us to make everyone’s experience here even more memorable.”
The enhancements to the stadium include a large video display in left field, measuring nearly 35 feet in height and 60 feet in width. Directly above this main display is another LED display, measuring more than 7 feet in height and 36 feet in width. Both displays boast 15HD pixel layouts, ensuring crisp and clear imagery for fans throughout the ballpark.

The video display is equipped with variable content zoning, allowing it to showcase one large image or multiple content zones. This versatility includes live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, game information, graphics, animations, and sponsorship messages.
Additionally, the upper outfield display can provide supplementary information alongside the main display, such as league scores, fan interactive content, and other sponsorship opportunities.
Daktronics will also provide a complete Show Control solution, offering a comprehensive control system that integrates display control software, video processing, data integration, and playback hardware, creating a powerful and user-friendly production solution.
As part of this collaboration, the Red Wings will receive a content package produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
