The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) returned to Las Vegas this past January after a hiatus due to the pandemic, and LG Electronics made a bold statement with its LG OLED Horizon, a standout exhibit in the company’s expansive CES 2023 booth.
Featuring 260 flexible, open-frame 55-inch displays, the impressive installation showcased the unmatched picture quality and versatility of LG OLED technology. Spanning 20 feet in height and 82 feet in width, the Horizon captivated tens of thousands of attendees, offering an immersive visual experience guided by the beauty of nature.
Blending art and technology, this exhibit celebrated a decade of innovation from LG OLED. The massive, nearly seamless panoramic screen displayed vibrant images of flora and fauna, creating a stunning and lifelike experience thanks to OLED’s self-lighting pixels. These pixels, which can be individually turned on or off, produce perfect blacks and exceptional contrast from any angle. Without the need for a backlight, LG OLED screens are remarkably thin, lightweight, and flexible.
Located at the main entrance of Central Hall in the Las Vegas Convention Center, the installation drew visitors into LG’s booth to explore its 2023 OLED TV lineup, which featured cutting-edge wireless and transparent models.
Since 2016, LG OLED exhibits have been must-see attractions at major global events. The first notable installation at CES, 2016’s LG OLED Tunnel, featured a dome-shaped design and showcased mesmerizing night sky scenes, earning LG a Red Dot Award for Spatial Communication.
In 2017, LG presented “Senses of the Future” at Milan Design Week, an award-winning large-scale light installation that made LG the first Korean company to win the prestigious Milano Design Award and the Red Dot Grand Prix in Spatial Communication.
LG continued its streak of captivating exhibits with the LG OLED Falls in 2019, which also received a Red Dot honor, and the LG OLED Wave in 2020, a breathtaking journey showcasing nature’s beauty on over 200 flat and curved OLED screens.
